PAEDIATRIC DENTISTRY

Your child in good hands

Paediatric dentist in Zurich - empathetic, professional, modern

Healthy teeth are the basis for a radiant smile - for a lifetime. We lay the foundation for this in childhood in particular. Our specialised paediatric dentist in Zurich will guide your child with lots of patience, playful methods and modern technology. This builds trust and turns visits to the dentist into positive experiences.

Why a paediatric dentist is important

Children have different needs to adults. Baby teeth must remain healthy because they act as placeholders for the permanent teeth. Tooth decay in childhood can lead to dental problems later on. Our paediatric dentist specialises in treating children – from preventive care to fillings and beyond: with a child-friendly approach, fun, games and excitement are virtually guaranteed.

Regular check-ups and adequate oral hygiene are essential from an early age in order to avoid dental problems, because even in the primary and mixed dentition, a lack of dental care can lead to tooth decay and other fatal consequences that can last a lifetime.

Interdisciplinary collaboration for the best care

A major advantage of our practice is that paediatric dentists, orthodontists and specialists in dental aesthetics work hand in hand.

  • Paediatric dentist: Prevention, treatment of caries, playful dental care instructions.

  • Orthodontics: Early detection and treatment of misaligned teeth and jaws before they cause problems.

  • Dental aesthetics: Gentle solutions for young people who want a beautiful, self-confident smile.

This close co-operation saves time and effort and ensures that your child always receives the best solution from a single source.

Gentle paediatric dentistry - playful, modern & sensitive

Children are not small adults - their teeth and needs require special attention. That's why our paediatric dentist in Zurich takes a lot of time for each child and organises every appointment individually, age-appropriately and with a great deal of empathy. Our aim is for children to leave the practice with a good feeling and positive memories.

With patience, experience and a calm atmosphere, we introduce children to dentistry in a playful way. We use state-of-the-art methods - from gentle caries diagnostics to virtually pain-free treatments with laser or laughing gas. This makes a visit to the dentist stress-free and anxiety-free for children.

To make our young patients feel comfortable, they can watch a children's series on the overhead TV during the treatment. For children who have already had bad experiences or for whom normal treatment is not possible, we also offer safe procedures under a short general anaesthetic.

FAQ Paediatric dentist Zurich

We recommend the first visit as soon as the first milk tooth appears (6th-12th month of life) - from the age of 2 at the latest. This allows us to give early advice, address individual needs and make your child's visit to the dentist as pleasant as possible through play.

Usually every 12 months in combination with a prophylaxis appointment/tooth brushing school. Shorter intervals may be advisable if there is an increased risk of caries or orthodontic issues. We will advise you individually and will be happy to create the best concept for your little teeth so that they grow big and strong and stay that way for a lifetime.

Of course not. We work with modern, gentle methods such as laser or nitrous oxide to make treatments virtually pain-free. In addition, we immerse the children in a different world with films on the ceiling TV and work with ritualised behavioural guides that make the children almost forget the dentist's chair.

Bring your child to us early and regularly so that they can build up trust. Our paediatric dentist takes plenty of time and makes the appointment fun. We also offer gentle treatment under general anaesthetic if your child is very anxious.

Not always, but often an early check-up makes sense. We playfully check whether teeth or jaw misalignments are present and work closely with our orthodontists.

The costs depend on the type of treatment that needs to be carried out on your child. We will be happy to provide you with a personalised quote after your child's initial examination. You can also use our price list for a rough guide to costs. Many parents have taken out supplementary dental insurance for their children, which usually covers a large part of the treatment costs.

Dear parents, if you have ever had an unpleasant experience at the dentist yourself or even have dental anxiety: please do not let your child feel this. Do not use negative terms such as fear and pain in relation to your child's appointment with us. Let your child have positive experiences of their own and don't start off with a preconceived fear. Dentistry has changed a lot over the years. Children can be treated in a much more individualised way, so that they enjoy going to the dentist and see it as a great experience.
And even if a treatment doesn't go as planned: everyone has a bad day. Encourage your child that it will definitely work out next time and maintain a positive attitude together.
For the appointment:You are welcome to bring utensils that are used at home (toothbrush, toothpaste, dummy...) to the appointment. This way we can consider together whether improvements are possible. And don't forget: you are also welcome to bring a good mood, questions and a desire to learn something new.
We look forward to getting to know you.
