In so-called „aligner orthodontics“, i.e. the correction of misaligned teeth using transparent plastic aligners, teeth are moved not by means of brackets and metal wires, but by the restorative force of special, very thin aligners that fit over the teeth like a second skin. A very large proportion of our adult patients choose this form of orthodontic treatment because, compared to traditional orthodontics using brackets and wires, it is almost impossible to tell that the patient is undergoing treatment to correct their teeth.
Naturally, the Invisalign aligners are custom-made to suit your specific orthodontic treatment and dentition, ensuring they fit perfectly at all times. This gentle method gives you straight teeth and a perfect smile. As the aligners can be removed at any time, they are also completely safe to wear whilst eating. This also makes cleaning the Invisalign aligners very easy. This method of teeth straightening is particularly popular with adults, as the clear aligners are barely noticeable in everyday life.
Before we do a digital 3D scan of the teeth to plan your tooth correction with Invisalign ©, an examination for caries and teeth cleaning should have taken place at your dentist in Zurich within the last 3 months. Otherwise there is a risk that the scan cannot be used for planning the correction.
In the first session we will then make a 3D scan of your teeth and some photos that are important for planning. Scans and photos cost around CHF 200.00. You can view a simulation of your finished orthodontics in the same session.
All teeth are then measured and your removable and invisible splints are effectively planned. Another CHF 200.00 will be charged for the final planning and, if you decide not to have the therapy carried out after the final planning, a planning fee of CHF 350.00 will be charged by Invisalign©. However, this fee does not apply if the treatment is carried out.
The finished planning proposal - called ClinCheck - will then be looked at with you approx. 1 week after the scan together with your practitioner and any changes you may want are discussed. The Invisalign © splints are only manufactured when you are satisfied with the result. This session will also discuss the duration of the treatment based on the exact number of splints. Please keep in mind, however, that in approx. 30% of all cases a further scan and a second mostly shorter rail phase must be connected. This so-called mid-course correction or refinement at the end of therapy refines the end result and coordinates it very precisely.
The initial session of the Invisalign © therapy lasts approx. 2 hours. First of all, fine enamel reductions are made at relevant bottlenecks and polished. This is followed by the attachment / gluing of the attachments, which temporarily remain on the tooth surface until the end of the tooth position correction in order to accelerate or enable the tooth movement. As a last point, the dentist will insert the first pair of splints and explain how to use, clean and wear them. If necessary, you will then receive additional splints, which you can change independently after the discussed interval.
You should always bring your current splint as well as the previous and the following transparent splint with you to the checks, which usually take place monthly. If you forget this, the check-up may not take place as planned. The controls usually only last 15-30 minutes. With the help of the controls, we can be sure that the teeth move into the desired position.
Aligntech will replace broken or faulty splints at any time at no extra cost. If you lose a splint, you can reorder it at short notice. The costs for this amount to CHF 140. However, it can take 1-2 weeks for the requested splints to arrive at the clinic. Until then, it is advisable to continue wearing the previous splint.
Smoking, as well as eating and drinking with the rails, leads to faster discoloration of the rails.

Before the start of treatment, only the costs of making the splints need to be transferred or paid by card. The remaining costs of the tooth correction can also be paid in installments. Tooth position correction with Invisalign is basically already from CHF 200 .- / month. possible.
