A full vaccination protects against infection with the SARS-CoV-2 Virus?

Tap to answer

No, unfortunately not

Since the corona virus mutates very quickly, it is also possible for people who have been vaccinated twice to become infected or even ill (so-called breakthrough vaccination). A vaccination reduces the risk of severe disease progression but does not exclude 100%. It is already foreseeable today that the corona vaccination will probably require a booster vaccination every year. From our point of view, this makes sense especially for older people.

A virus is much smaller than the pores of the protective mask. Does she protect me against anyway the virus?

Tap to answer

Yes, with some restrictions

Since viruses are usually excreted in small water droplets, which are larger than the pore size of a medical mask, a commercially available medical mouth and nose protection also reduces the risk of infection. Older people and risk groups are recommended to wear an FFP2 mask. A medical mouth and nose protection protects other people above all, as it greatly reduces the excretion of aerosols when speaking and sneezing.

Q: Is dental treatment dangerous during the corona epidemic?
